Abstract

Organic food is becoming more popular for health reasons. Due to high cost, limited awareness, product non-availability, fakes, and duplicates, the organic food consumption population is low. In Tirunelveli District, the researcher planned to explore customer attitudes and preferences for organic food. This study aims to determine customer attitudes regarding organic food items and the factors that influence their purchasing. Primary and secondary data were obtained. Primary data came from 630 respondents. Secondary data came from journals, magazines, newspapers, and the internet. Data were analyzed using percentage, Henry Garrett ranking, Factor analysis, ANOVA, weighted average, T-test, F-test, Kruskal Wallis, and Mann Whitney U tests. Only the Tirunelveli District was studied. Therefore, the result is unsuitable for other locations. Only organic food customers are considered in this study. This study's main finding is organic product attitude, which led to a Factor Model. All GFI, AGFI, CFI, NFI, RMA, and RMSEA calculated loadings were substantial. This study showed that marketers maintain shop availability to keep regular customers and attract new ones. This study found that pricing influences organic food purchases. Compared to non-organic food, consumers think the price is high.
