Owing to sexism, stigma, neglect, racism and sexual harassment within society, the sexual minority is vulnerable to harmful alcohol use. This review aims to identify the various factors influencing the use of heavy alcohol and to establish whether those factors are prevalent in the transgender community. This study is performed using PubMed, ResearchGate, Nature, and ScienceDirect databases in the 2011 to 2020 period. The dominant factors for risky consumption of alcohol are victimization and social isolation. However, a lack of data such as restricted data for Indian transgender alcohol consumption and limitations for the low-risk trend of alcohol consumption in transgender remain uncertain on several aspects.
