An Overview on Foraminal and Extraforaminal Lumbar Disc Herniations

Abstract
The foraminal zone is the limited area between planes passing through the medial and lateral borders of the pedicles. While the extraforaminal zone is the area outside the sagittal plane of the lateral borders of the pedicles, the extraforaminal zone has no precise lateral border but is certainly posterior to anterior zone.
