Analysis of Speed and Agility of women Soccer Players Based on Playing Positions

Abstract

Purpose: The main purpose of study was to analyze the speed and agility of women soccer players and to find out the significant differences among the forward, midfielder and defender players. Methods: A total of 30 National women soccer players of Manipur, above 17 years of age were selected purposively for the study. The selected subjects were divided into three groups according to their playing positions, i.e. Group1 (Forwards, n=10), Group 2 (Midfielders, n=10) and Group 3 (Defenders, n=10). The data was collected from all groups on speed and agility by using 30m Dash for Speed and Balsom Agility Test for Agility, respectively. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive and ANOVA statistical techniques to determine the characteristics and the significant mean differences among the groups.
