Abstract

Tuberculosis remains a longstanding and pervasive health concern globally, particularly in India, which accounts for 27% of all TB cases worldwide. This study aims to identify and characterize TB hotspots to inform policy development. By distinguishing between static and dynamic hotspots, policymakers can tailor interventions effectively. Understanding these hotspots can guide awareness programs, monitoring efforts, and resource allocation. Additionally, leveraging technologies and statistical methods like scan statistics and regression modeling, along with software tools such as saTScan, R, and Python, enables efficient analysis. Notably, around 50 districts in northwestern India emerge as significant TB hotspots. Addressing these hotspots is crucial for optimizing resource allocation nationwide. This study underscores the urgent need for targeted policies and interventions to combat TB effectively in India.
