Abstract

An essential first step in assessing the possible effects of chemicals and medications on human health is testing for animal toxicity. Animal testing has limitations and presents ethical questions despite its significance. The goal of this paper is to give a general overview of the background, procedures, and guidelines utilized in animal toxicity testing, together with an analysis of the difficulties and constraints involved. We also talk about the innovations and future paths that toxicity testing will take, such as the application of computational models and in vitro methods. This review's objective is to draw attention to the necessity of a well-rounded strategy for animal toxicity testing that considers both ethical obligations and scientific advancements.
