Abstract

Lead (Pb) pollution poses significant threats to plant growth and overall ecosystem health. Phytohormones, such as Oxalic acid (OA) and Salicylic acid (SA) play an important role in the physiological processes of plants. In our investigation, we explored the potential protective effects of exogenous application of oxalic acid, salicylic acid and their combination on lead- induced stress in maize over a 45-day period, analysing the impact at 15-day intervals.
