Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of salivary malondialdehyde levels as a diagnostic marker in periodontal disease. Methodology: saliva collected from the patients with periodontitis were evaluated for salivary malondialdehyde and also various periodontal parameters were evaluated. Result: The findings of this clinical trial suggest a statistically significant direct association between salivary malondialdehyde concentration and chronic periodontal disease. Conclusion: A positive correlation between the levels of MDA and all the periodontal parameters was observed.
