Zinc plays a critical role in immune modulation, and its imbalance has been linked to chronic inflammatory conditions, primarily through the dysregulation of cytokine profiles and oxidative stress pathways. This study evaluates biochemical markers indicative of zinc homeostasis and their associations with pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, TNF-α) and oxidative stress markers in patients with chronic inflammation. A cohort of 120 participants, stratified into chronic inflammation and healthy control groups, was assessed for serum zinc levels, cytokine profiles, and oxidative biomarkers. Statistical analyses reveal significant deviations in cytokine activity and oxidative stress levels in the chronic inflammation group compared to controls (p < 0.05), with altered zinc concentrations correlating with pro-inflammatory marker upregulation and increased oxidative stress. These results underscore zinc's influence on immune response and its potential as a modifiable factor in inflammation-related pathologies. This study fills a crucial gap by linking zinc dysregulation to specific inflammatory biomarkers, paving the way for targeted interventions in inflammatory diseases.
