The decomposition of animal carcasses, nutrient recycling, and the post mortem period are all significantly impacted by thanatomicrobiome; however, currently, very little is known about this phenomenon. In this study, the bacterial population dynamics of the internal organs of mammal (goat) and aves (chicken) were examined and compared post death. The diverse thanatomicrobiota were characterized using various biochemical tests. "It was observed that preserving the internal organs of animals for varying durations post-mortem yielded both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial cultures. The most common forms of bacteria, whether obtained under aerobic or anaerobic circumstances, were gram negative. Thus, this study provides a novel perspective on the dynamics of microbiota formation, their significance at various post-mortem intervals, and the breakdown and recycling of nutrients and elements following an organism's death.
