Background : T2DM is a complex metabolic disease which is characterized by high blood sugar level persisting for a long time owing to the reduced body sensitivity to insulin and the diminished ability of the pancreas to produce adequate amount of insulin. Lipid enhancing agents like sitagliptin and linagliptin are common references in T2DM treatment plan due to their capacity to enhance glycemic control and safety profile. Objectives : The purpose of this work is to investigate the effectiveness of sitagliptin and linagliptin in the context of a better management of T2DM from the perspective of the variation in HbA1c and safety profile. Study design: A retrospective observational comparative study.
