Background: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders can cause debilitating pain and restricted mouth opening. TMJ arthrocentesis is a minimally invasive procedure that can provide relief to patients. This study aims to compare the efficacy of irrigation with single and double needle techniques in TMJ arthrocentesis by assessing pre and post-procedure mouth opening and pain levels. Materials and Methods: Two groups, each consisting of 10 patients with TMJ disorders, were included in this prospective study. Group A underwent TMJ arthrocentesis with a single needle technique, while Group B received the procedure with a double needle technique. Preprocedure baseline measurements of maximum mouth opening (MMO) and pain levels were recorded. After the procedure, MMO and pain levels were reassessed at regular intervals. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods.
