Abstract

Objective: To find the relationship between a distal surface of mandibular second molars with impacted third status with caries. Material and Methods: Data collected on age, gender, the status of impacted third molars, and distal surface caries of mandibular second molars were collected retrospectively from panoramic radiographs. Impacted third molars were categorized using Winters' Classification as well as the Pell and Gregory classification. We used the Pearson chi squared test. A probability (P) value less than or equal to 0.05 value was regarded as statistically significant.
