Abstract

Kidney stone recurrence remains a significant clinical challenge, impacting patient quality of life and healthcare resources globally. The aim of this cross sectional study was to evaluate risk factors associated with kidney stone recurrence, with a focus on identifying novel determinants and quantifying their relative contribution. This study analyzed demographic, lifestyle, and medical history data from 350 patients diagnosed with recurrent kidney stones over a period of five years. Statistical analysis revealed that high dietary salt intake, insufficient hydration, and a family history of kidney stones were significantly associated with increased recurrence rates (p < 0.05). Notably, patients with a history of urinary tract infections and metabolic disorders also demonstrated higher recurrence, highlighting the multifactorial nature of the condition. The results support the importance of lifestyle modifications, such as hydration and dietary management, as crucial preventive measures. This study's findings contribute to a deeper understanding of recurrence risk factors, underscoring the need for personalized prevention strategies. Future research should focus on long-term interventions and the development of predictive models to enhance patient outcomes.
