Aim and Objective: The aim of this study was to formulate and evaluate natural polymer-loaded matrix tablets of an antipyretic drug for sustained release, aiming to enhance patient compliance and therapeutic efficacy. The objective was to investigate the influence of different natural polymers on the drug release profile and optimize the formulation for controlled release characteristics. Material and Method: Matrix tablets were prepared using various natural polymers including hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), sodium alginate, and xanthan gum as matrix formers. The drug-polymer mixtures were compressed into tablets using a suitable compression force. The formulations were evaluated for preformulation parameters such as flow properties and compressibility. Post formulation evaluations included appearance, weight variation, thickness and diameter uniformity, hardness, friability, disintegration time, and dissolution profile.
