According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1% of the world's population suffers from schizophrenia, with prevalence varying across countries (WHO, 2021). One of the main challenges in the management of schizophrenia is preventing symptom relapse, which can have a significant impact on the quality of life of patients and families. Objective. Recovery nursing care is an approach that focuses on patient recovery through emotional support, education, and active involvement in the care process... Methods. This study used mixed methods with a quasi-experimental research design to measure the results of the implementation of recovery nursing care in schizophrenia patients who experienced relapse. Data were collected from 132 schizophrenia patients in Pariaman City who had completed treatment at a mental hospital and had returned to the community, with measurements taken before and after the intervention for three months. Results. The results showed that the application of recovery nursing care can significantly reduce relapse symptoms in schizophrenia patients. From statistical analysis, it was found that there was a decrease in relapse symptoms in patients who received the intervention with a pValue of 0.000. This study also noted that family involvement in the care process has a positive impact on the effectiveness of recovery nursing care. Conclusion. The conclusion of this study shows that recovery nursing care is an effective approach in preventing relapse in schizophrenia patients. Further research is needed to explore various aspects of this intervention and develop a more integrated program within the mental health care system in Indonesia.
