Neuroprotective activity of ethanolic extract of Terminalia pallida against Haloperidol induced Parkinsonism was evaluated in the present study. Five groups of 6 animals in each namely Test, Control, Normal and Standard groups were used for the study. L-Dopa and carbidopa in combination were used as standard drugs. Haloperidol was used to induce Parkinson’s Disease in rats which acts by blocking dopamine D2 receptors and produces a state of catalepsy in humans or animals and reduces dopaminergic transmission in basal ganglion. Parameters asserted during the study were Catalepsy, Muscle rigidity, Akinesia, Peripheral movements, Central movements, Rearing’s, Grooming’s, Salivation score, Lacrimation Score, and Tremors.
