Abstract

The use of smart phones has become an essential aspect of students' life, including both advantageous and disadvantageous consequences for their academic achievements, psychological well-being, and entire state of being. The research highlights the need of supporting a balanced utilisation of smart phones, advocating for effective time management techniques, and cultivating digital literacy to reduce the negative consequences associated with excessive smart phone use. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of these dynamics is of utmost importance for educators, parents, and legislators in order to develop interventions that promote children' academic progress while also protecting their mental health and overall well-being. The increasing reliance on cell phones has raised apprehensions over its adverse effects on pupils. The review analyses the literature on the effects of PSU, emphasising important findings for educators, mental health practitioners, and policymakers
