Formulation and evaluation of Transethosome gel of Celecoxib for treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract

Objective-Transethosome is type of nanocarrier and also type of lipid vesicle which is much better than other lipid containing vesicle like ethosome, liposome, noisome and other type of lipid vesicle because Transethosome bypass or avoid skin barrier very easily and penetrated deeply in skin and shown better medication action. Iin this research work we formulate celecoxib contain Transethosome gel for treatment of arthritis, Transethosome is better option for topical delivery. Celecoxib cause GIT damage when given orally so convert celecoxib in topical dosage form for reduce their GIT side effect. Cold method uses for making Transethosome, and Transethosome evaluated on parameter like entrapment efficiency, SEM, TEM, zeta potential, particle size. Add cholesterol make vesicle more stable as compare to non- cholesterol containing vesicle. Method-Transethosome prepared through cold method using magnetic stir and sonicater. Result- Transethosome best formulation was obtained is F4, F4 entrapment efficiency is 89%, zeta potential was 25 mv and their particle size is 142 nm, and in vitro drug release was obtained 72% with no skin irritation. Conclusion-Celecoxib provide better treatment for rheumatoid arthritis as compare to non-selective NSAIDS, Transethosome gel of celecoxib provide better treatment in arthritis cause by reducing their inflammation and swelling.
