Abstract
The dihydropyrimidinone derivatives were synthesized by Biginelli reaction employing equimolar amount of acetoacetic ester, urea and substituted aromatic aldehyde using grewia asiatica fruit juice as biocatalyst under microwave irradiation. The synthesized dihydropyrimidinones were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E.coli, by cup-plate agar diffusion method.
