Abstract

Background: The preoperative nutritional status of surgical patients is a significant predictor of their postoperative recovery and rate of complications. Both undernutrition and obesity have a significant effect on surgical outcomes, extending hospital stays and raising morbidity. Objective: This study examined how preoperative nutritional status affects postoperative recovery and complication rates in surgical patients in order to identify effective evaluation methods and interventions to improve patient outcomes.
