Maternal health has long been a critical focus in public welfare, as it impacts both the well-being of mothers and their children. India has achieved commendable progress in lowering the MMR in the recent past. Assam located in the north-eastern part of India has recorded a significant decrease in the MMR, evidencing state commitment to a healthcare strategic plan, facility expansion and societal mobilisation. This research therefore seeks to assess the situation of maternal health in the state of India especially in the region of Assam but more specifically for the district of Hojai by unravelling both primary and secondary data.
