Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease with significant health impacts, including cardiovascular disease and retinopathy, exacerbated by uncontrolled glucose levels. The onset of Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is closely associated with oxidative damage, inflammation, and several pro angiogenic cytokines. Chemerin, an adipokine influencing adipogenesis and lipid metabolism, plays a crucial role in metabolic syndrome by regulating inflammatory processes in adipose tissue. Aim : The study aimed to evaluate the influence of serum chemerin levels in type 2 diabetes patients with diabetic retinopathy.
