Optimization of Shallot Growth and Production with Hormonal Priming and Trichoderma asperellum

Abstract

Objective. This study aims to analyze the response of shallot plants to hormonal priming and Trichoderma asperellum. Methods. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Breeding and Seeds and Teaching Farm Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Makassar, South Sulawesi. This research was conducted from January to June 2024. The experiment used a separate plot design. The dose of Trichoderma asperellum as the main plot consisted of 3 levels; 0 kg ha- 1, 400 kg ha-1 and 800 kg ha-1 , while the children were the type of hormonal priming; aquadest, auxin, cytokinin and gibberellin. Results. There was no interaction between homonal priming and Trichoderma asperellum. Gibberellin priming showed the best results in plant growth rate (3.36), harvest age (78.78 days) and productivity (19.94 t ha-1 ). Trichoderma asperellum 800 kg ha-1 treatment effectively increased plant growth rate (4.14), tuber dry weight (24.92 g) and suppressed the incidence of fusarium wilt (0.88%). Conclusion. The treatment of the type of growth regulator and the appropriate dose of Trichoderma asperellum is effective in increasing the growth and production of shallots.
