Abstract

Rosa damascena, commonly known as Damask rose, is renowned for its therapeutic properties, particularly in traditional medicine. This study investigates the phytochemical composition and evaluates the in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of Rosa damascena extract. Comprehensive phytochemical screening revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, and phenolic compounds. The anti-inflammatory potential was assessed using the protein denaturation assay,. The results demonstrated that Rosa damascena extract exhibits significant anti-inflammatory activity, comparable to standard anti-inflammatory drugs. These findings suggest that Rosa damascena could be a promising natural source for developing anti-inflammatory therapeutics.
