Background: Cirrhosis is defined histologically as an advanced form of progressive hepatic fibrosis with distortion of the hepatic architecture and regenerative nodule formation. Dyslipidemia, among 2other factors, is a majorrisk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) development and progression and therefore, guidelines recommend lipid-lowering therapy in patients at increased risk for CVD. As the liver plays a central role in lipid metabolism, lipid profiles are altered by chronic liver disease (CLD) severity. Objective: To determine the frequency of dyslipidemia in patients with liver cirrhosis. Study design: Cross – sectional study.
