Religious pluralism: A Critical reflection

Abstract

Religion is the most important aspect of the human societies. There are many kinds of religious traditions and faith systems in different societies of the world. The main purpose and objectives of the religion is said to be keep bonding amongst the people of a particular society. It is also observed that within a society there are different types of religious traditions and customs. Even within the same family husband and wife may have different religious beliefs. Despite of these religious difference, the family is enjoying a peace and happy life. A family is said to be the basic building block of the society. If the family can enjoy a cohesion despite of their different religious beliefs, then why is it not feasible for the societies of different religious traditions to achieve a harmony within themselves. This point of disharmony of different religious societies is more pertinent when we read and observe religious conflicts and clashes on some issues. This paper will attempt to see a few factors upon which there is possibility of conflict and then try to resolve the conflict on the basis of some humanly qualities such as respect, dignity, benevolence, love, rational qualities which can help us to reflect our activities and services to the human.
