Abstract

Mudra is a symbolic gesture used in yoga. The meaning of the word Mudra is- ‘gesture’ or ‘mark’. In yoga and meditation Mudras are most commonly known as hand positions, which are believed to affect the flow of energy in the body and chakras by clearing the psychic centers and energy channels. Mudra may be roughly translated as ‘Mood’ in English. In the Indian tradition, moods are reflected through various positions of the body, the position of the eyes, position of hands and fingers, and the breath pattern
