Background: Orthopaedics is crucial for diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, thereby enhancing patient mobility and quality of life. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the role of the orthopaedics department in improving patient mobility and quality of life through comprehensive analysis of surgical interventions, postoperative outcomes, and rehabilitation processes. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at [Medical Center Name] over a ten-year period, including 1,200 patients who underwent orthopaedic procedures. Data on demographic information, clinical presentation, surgical details, postoperative outcomes, and rehabilitation processes were collected. Patient mobility and quality of life were assessed using the Short Form-36 (SF-36) Health Survey and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain, with follow-ups at 6 months and 1 year. Statistical analyses included paired t-tests and multivariate regression to identify factors associated with improved outcomes. Results: Significant improvements were observed in SF-36 Physical Function (45.2 to 65.7) and Mental Health (52.1 to 61.4) scores from preoperative to 1- year follow-up. VAS pain scores decreased from 6.8 to 3.1. Factors such as younger age, lower BMI, and fewer comorbidities were associated with better outcomes.
