Assessment Of Post COVID 19 Autoimmune Phenomena And Connective Tissue Diseases In Emergency Room Health Care Workers

Abstract
Aim of study: measurement of the prevalence of post COVID-19 autoimmune antibodies and connective tissue diseases among health care workers of emergency room (ER). Subjects and method: Observational, case control study, enrolled on 44 ER health care workers (HCWs) who are previously infected by COVID-19 more than 6 months after infection and control group of 45 HCWs who were not infected with COVID-19 before. Each subject was subjected to: 1) Connective tissue disease screening questionnaire. 2) Autoimmune antibodies. Results: connective tissue questionnaire results, autoimmune antibodies levels in serum showed non-significant statistical difference between both groups. Conclusion: COVID-19 is not associated with higher prevalence of autoimmune diseases in post COVID-19 patients 6 months after infection
