Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease that affects approximately 0.5–2% of the global population, with a higher prevalence in females. Characterized by persistent synovial inflammation, RA can lead to progressive joint damage, functional disability, and decreased quality of life. Conventional treatment modalities—though effective in symptom suppression—often carry adverse effects and do not offer a permanent cure. Homoeopathy, based on individualisation and symptom similarity, offers a holistic approach that addresses both physical and emotional aspects of the disease. Objective:To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of homoeopathic medicines prescribed in 200C potency in cases of rheumatoid arthritis through a randomised, placebo-controlled trial. Methods: This single-blind, randomized controlled trial included 100 patients diagnosed with RA as per ICD-10-CM diagnostic code M06.9. Patients were assessed based on clinical symptoms and laboratory parameters (RA Factor, ESR, CRP, Anti-CCP). The trial spanned over six months, with regular follow-ups every 10–15 days. Medicines were selected based on individualised totality of symptoms using RADAR software, and responses were assessed using ACR/EULAR 2010 diagnostic criteria. Chi-square test was applied for statistical significance. Results: Out of 100 participants, 12 patients achieved complete remission, 50 showed marked improvement, 24 had partial improvement, while 11 exhibited no response due to various factors. Three cases dropped out of the study. The calculated chi-square value (67.5) significantly exceeded the critical value (9.488 at df=4, p<0.05), confirming the hypothesis that improvement was due to the therapeutic effect of the selected homoeopathic medicines, not random variation. Conclusion: The findings of this study strongly support the clinical efficacy of individualized homoeopathic medicines in the management of rheumatoid arthritis. The observed therapeutic response in the 200C potency reinforces homoeopathy as a safe and effective complementary modality in autoimmune inflammatory joint disorders. Further large-scale multicentric trials are recommended to strengthen the evidence base.
