Five fungicides (Hexaconazole, Azoxystrobin, Carbendazim, Difenoconazole and Propiconazole) were evaluated for their efficacy in managing grain discoloration disease in paddy crop under field conditions during 2020-21 and 2021-22. These fungicides were sprayed at tillering, milking, dough and tillering + milking + dough stages of crop growth to find their effect on growth and yield parameters of paddy crop infested with seed discoloration pathogens. Of all the fungicides tested during the two consecutive years of field trial, Azoxystrobin gave most remarkable results, at 5% probabilty. Its spray during tillering stage, increased shoot length and root length of the plants to 51.84 cm and 23.67 cm, respectively, while produced maximum number of tillers/ plant i.e., 16.95 when sprayed at tillering + milking + dough stage. This particular treatment of spraying Azoxystrobin at tillering + milking + dough stage also boosted crop yield to the highest as highest number of grains/panicle (289.48), lowest no. of unfilled grains/panicle (39.14), maximum grain filling percentage (86.47%), reduction in total no. of discoloured grains/panicle (38.58) and most improved paddy yield (20.71 g) was obtained with it.
