Varicocele (VL) is associated with progressive testicular and sperm damages. This study aimed to scrutinize the effect of Hypericum perforatum (HP) on experimental VL-induced testiculopathy and pathospermia in mature mice. Twenty-four mature male mice were assigned into four equal groups (n=6), including control, sham, VL, and VL plus HP (100.00 mg/kg/day; orally). Testicular histo-architecture, histopathological changes, and total oxidant status (TTOS), as well as epididymal sperms genetic integrity and morphological abnormalities were probed after 35 days. The HP administration caused noticeable upswing in testicular histological indices and epididymal sperms quality, as well as pronounced decline in testicular tissue damage and TTOS compared to the VL group. These findings suggest that HP can rectify VL-mediated testicular and sperm damages in mice through anti-oxidant/oxidant balance stabilization.
