Abstract

Background: Early confirmation of the diagnosis of various non-traumatic jaw lesions is essential for management decision-making. The computed tomography (CT) scan is typically the last imaging modality used to determine the amount of pathology and provide an imaging diagnosis. Aim: The study's objectives are to establish the significance of CT scan as a powerful imaging modality for evaluation of traumatic jaw lesions and to correlate clinical findings, MDCT scan findings, and biopsy findings. Material and method: 110 non- traumatic jaw lesions were included and study and radiographic analysis was done using CT scan and correlate them with clinical and Histopathologic features. Results: Non-truamatic jaw lesions were more common in mandible. Ameloblastoma was most common lesions found in this study. Conclusion: CT scan helps in determining the extent of jaw lesions and hence helps in management. It also helps in evaluation of mandibular canal and relationship of lesion with mandibular canal which helps to narrow differential diagnosis.
