The global requirement of sustainable agriculture practices is driven by the need to overcome increasing environmental challenges and ensure food security for a growing population. Integrated disease management (IDM) is one of the critical strategy in maintaining the health and productivity of horticultural crops. A variety of weed species including Ageratum conyzoides, Amaranthus spinosus, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Chenopodium album, Lantana camara, Parthenium hysterophorus, Xanthium strumarium etc. with allelopathic properties have emerged as a promising approach in addressing the Integrated Disease Management. The allelochemicals released by the weeds can be useful to kill or inhibit the disease incidence in crops. At the same time it is ecofriendly, more sustainable and reduce the effect on environment. The review is to understand the present work and applications undertaken using allelopathy within IDM for vegetable crops. Better field studies will improve the efficacy and practicality of these methods in diverse agricultural systems. The use of research in this field can broaden the scope of more effective, scalable, and sustainable Integrated Disease Management strategies that harness the natural potential of plants and also help in maintaining a healthy environment.
