Bacopa monnieri (Linn.) Wettst. (Brahmi, water hyssop, Indian pennywort), belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. The plant used in traditional medicine as a nootropic, neuroprotective, or antidepressant agent. Bacoside-A which is the mixture of four triterpenoid saponin glycosides i.e., bacoside A3, bacopaside II, bacopasaponin C, and bacopaside X, is a family of compounds extracted from the Bacopa monnieri plant, believed to exhibit therapeutic properties, particularly enhancing cognitive functions and improving memory by various multifaceted mechanisms including regulation of NMDA receptors, cholinergic system interaction, neuroprotective properties, and influence on GABAergic neurotransmission. The study focuses on the extraction, Isolation, characterization and pharmacological evaluation for memory enhancement activity of Bacoside A rich fraction from Bacopa monnieri plant. The Bacosides were extracted by Reflux extraction method and further Bacoside A rich fraction isolated by column chromatography technique. The isolated fraction was further characterized for various parameters like organoleptic properties, solubility, and melting point determination
