Factors influencing the adoption of innovation in Saharan agriculture in Algeria, Case of El-Oued region.

Abstract

El Oued is one of the most important states in national production of vegetables and fruits; considered as one of the leading states in agricultural innovation development. The current study aims to identify the key factors influencing the adoption of agricultural innovations. The study included 133 active members in the agricultural field from various categories. Among the most important findings, farmers and artisans are the main drivers of agriculture in the state. Additionally, suppliers of agricultural inputs also have an impact in the field. Availability and demand are crucial factors for innovation adoption. Furthermore, the internet plays a significant role in disseminating agricultural technologies and it is increasingly used for promoting ideas and products.
