Abstract

Mimosa pudica flower is creeping annual herb it has been found to have anticoagulant and antibacterial. In the present study floral mediated nanoparticles of Mimosa pudica were used to enhance anticoagulant activity and provide antibacterial activity to the Heparin Drug molecule. For Synthesis of floral mediated nanoparticles silver nitrate solution was used. The characterization of synthesized nanoparticles was done by UV spectrometry, FTIR, SEM and XRD. The antibacterial activity were tested against common Human Blood infector E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and S. aureus by using well diffusion method. The maximum zone of inhibition were 1.5mm, 2mm, and 1.4mm respectively. The Heparin with nanoparticles not only shows antibacterial activity but also enhance anticoagulant activity of heparin against human blood sample. During the experiment, the addition of nanoparticles appears to be prolong the anticoagulant activity of heparin, increase duration 62 mins. Compared to only heparin which showed activity for 30 mins.
