The the present study is the first report on the green synthesis of ZnO-NPs from S. arboricola. The synthesized ZnO NPs were characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, EDS and FTIR. The UV-Vis spectroscopy showed an absorption peak at 300 nm which is the characteristic feature of ZnO-NPs. XRD confirmed the size (90.88 nm) and shape (hexagonal) and also indicated stiff and narrow diffraction peaks with no remarkable shift in the diffraction peaks indicating that the crystalline product was without any impurities. The SEM analysis showed the nanoparticles were agglomerated and EDS affirmed the presence of high-quality ZnO-NPs with no demonstrable impurities. Correspondingly, FT-IR spectrum of ZnO-NPs had only one adsorption peak for metal oxide indicating the capping of plant metabolites during the formation of metal oxide.
