The present study reports the first herpetological survey in the Belezma Biosphere Reserve in Batna province, Algeria. A total of four amphibian and 19 reptile species belonging to 15 families were recorded during fieldwork carried out from April to September in 2015 and 2016, and again from 2021 to 2024. Among these species, one amphibian, one lizard, and one snake were not previously recorded in the province. A comprehensive checklist of the herpetofauna in the BBR detailing their associated habitats, distribution, and conservation status is provided. This study provides a baseline for future research and management efforts
