This study investigates the influence of major economic events on the investment decisions of millennials, a generation born between 1981 and 1996. Through a mixed-methods approach combining survey data, economic indicators, and in-depth interviews, we analyze how events such as the 2008 financial crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and periods of economic growth and recession have shaped millennial investment behaviors and preferences. Our findings suggest that millennials exhibit distinct investment patterns characterized by risk aversion, preference for digital platforms, and heightened interest in sustainable and socially responsible investments. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on generational investment behaviors and offers insights for financial institutions and policymakers seeking to engage with this influential demographic.
