Abstract

Background: As global communication has changed, social media sites have become important tools that influence cultural norms and personal views, especially among young people. The strong effect of social media on young people has greatly added to problems with body image and self-esteem, especially in at-risk groups like Pakistani youth. This study aimed to explore the influence of social media on the adoption of cosmetic procedures among Pakistani youth. Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional survey of 200 young Pakistanis (aged 18-30) to explore social media’s influence on cosmetic procedure adoption. The study duration was sixteen months from 2022 July to dec 2023. The online questionnaire covers demographics, social media usage, and cosmetic attitudes, focusing on beauty standards and influencer impact.
