Background Restoring endodontically treated teeth (ETT) is a critical aspect of dental practice, aimed at ensuring the longevity and functionality of compromised teeth. Various materials and techniques are available for this purpose, yet the optimal method remains a subject of debate among dental professionals. Aim This study aims to investigate the preferred methods and materials among dentists for the restoration of endodontically treated teeth, focusing on the use of posts, types of crowns, and direct versus indirect restorative techniques. Materials and Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 500 practicing dentists. Participants were selected using stratified random sampling to ensure diversity in geographic location, years of experience, and type of practice. An online survey collected data on the types of posts and crowns used, and the preference for direct versus indirect restorative techniques. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Results Fiber posts were preferred by 42% of dentists, metal posts by 30%, and 28% reported not using any posts. All-ceramic crowns were used by 50% of respondents, metal-ceramic crowns by 35%, and zirconia crowns by 15%. Indirect restorations were favored by 64% of dentists, while 36% preferred direct restorations. Cost, ease of use, clinical outcome, and patient preference were significant factors influencing restorative choices. Conclusion The study reveals a trend towards the use of fiber posts and all-ceramic crowns for restoring ETT, with a preference for indirect restorative techniques due to their superior clinical outcomes. These findings can help inform clinical decision making and improve patient outcomes in restorative dentistry.
