Supervision is critically important in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing to ensure that high-quality care is delivered in an environment that is filled with patients’ complications and high-risk situations. Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing encompasses various physical, cultural, and emotional health complaints that women have from childhood to old age. As a result of the systematic review of the literature, leadership plays a crucial role in managing complications, staff workload and decreases mortality and morbidity rate. Evidence-Based Practice helps in the growth and development of the profession by setting new theories in hospital setting. Theories that act as the guiding principles for nurses to provide quality care. These include nurse leaders who have a duty of creating stewardship and designing organizational policies, competencies, and interprofessional collaboration for the delivery of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing care services. They own the vision, are involved in key decision-making for team activities, set standards, and support innovations in practice. Quality nursing leadership for example increases patient satisfaction, infections and decreases adverse events. International Nursing Organizations encourage more attention and money put into enhancing Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing leadership in education and training to improve maternal-child health. As this paper focuses on the role of nursing leadership, it explores the roles, significance, and practical application of nursing leaders within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing specialty.
