Background: The operation theatre (OT) is the most productive part in a hospital. Even though changeover duration in an operating room is a non-productive period, it however holds importance. Its effective use requires multidisciplinary teamwork, particularly from supporting services, which are significant in reducing down on operating room turnover time. Methods: This observational case study attempts to quantify the changeover time for three operating rooms during the month of January 2024. The lag in changeover time (from wheel out time to incision time), the benchmark time measured was selected as the variable.
