This paper will examine how people in Bihar's Madhubani district are aware of medicinal plants, use them, and believe in the efficacy of those plants. The main objective was to determine how much knowledge and usage of the medicinal plants exist among people, based on which patterns of usage are associated with people's perceptions about the efficacies of these plants. A structured questionnaire was administered among 100 respondents, and descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were used to interpret the data. The results demonstrate that, although moderate awareness exists about medicinal plants, their practical use is relatively very low due to a lack of detailed knowledge and resources that allow access. There exist significant correlations between usage patterns and perceived efficacy, indicating that strong personal experiences heavily influence the beliefs of effectiveness of medicinal plants. However, no direct relation was found between sources of information and other factors; in other words, proper communication and knowledge are highly lacking. So, from the study, it can be concluded that promoting the use of medicinal plants in that area requires more than just awareness distribution. It needs actual actions, workshop demonstrations, and community programs that make people understand how these plants should be put to practical use and how they benefit them. Being very important for further use of the district's many medicinal plants is easier sharing of information and solving problems of access. The study highlighted how very important it is to bridge this knowledge gap and improve communication so that one will enjoy the health benefits of these plants most. The research will give critical information regarding the knowledge and practice of medicinal plants in Madhubani and provides avenues for practical suggestions on improving the inclusion of these resources in the local health system.
