Background. Ranging from mild to severe, fungal infections pose a serious public health concern worldwide, especially with their constantly changing epidemiology. The aim of the present study is to identify the most common clinical type of human dermatophytosis and candidiasis and their most common causative organisms in Batna, Algeria, as well as the effect of certain social and demographic factors on the spread of these fungi.
