Purpose: There is mounting evidence linking cardiovascular disease to stress. Increased allostatic load from chronic stress is a contributing factor to the atherosclerotic process. The immunological system, neuroendocrine system, hypothalamus-pituitary adrenal axis, and related chronic risk factors such insulin resistance syndrome, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidaemia all play a role in mediating this process. Ineffectively treated chronic diseases have the potential to threaten lives and undermine overall health during the emergency response phase after disasters. Objectives:One of the most common patient groups during catastrophes is Chronic Disease Exacerbations (CDE), and patients with CDE are more likely to experience unfavourable outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic renal failure during natural disasters, pinpoint care-related barriers, and suggest ways to enhance the planning and handling of CDE during disasters. Method:Databases such as Ovid, Medline, a and PubMed were thoroughly searched. Included are Dr.AnkushLoona's own worldwide experiences managing CDE during natural catastrophes, such as the 2018 earthquake that struck Jalandhar City, Punjab. Discussion:A significant portion of the disease burden after natural catastrophes is caused by exacerbations of chronic illnesses. According to surveys, between 25 and 40 percent of people who resided in the areas devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita had at least one chronic illness. Thirty days following the landfall of the hurricane, 33% of visits were related to chronic disease. In response to the need for dialysis, the global nephrology community established the Renal Disaster Relief Task Force (RDRTF), a proficient and efficient organisation. Conclusion:The recognition and resolution of obstacles to the management of exacerbations of chronic diseases during natural disasters might enhance the calibre, efficiency, and efficacy of treatment given to patients with diabetes during relief operations.
