Background: Collegiate athletes had a very high occurrence rate (0.12 per thousand exposures) of anterior shoulder instability. Aim: To compare the Outcomes of Latarjet Procedure and Arthroscopic Bankart Repair in Recurrent Traumatic Anterior Shoulder Instability in Suez Canal University Patients. Patients and methods: This was a single blinded randomized controlled clinical trial design was adopted to fulfill the purpose of the study conducted on 30 patients with primary recurrent shoulder dislocation at department of orthopedic surgery trauma, Suez Canal university hospitals in Ismailia. Results: There was a significant difference in the 3 months ROWE score postoperatively regarding function and mobility among the arthroscopy control groups p=0.000. The arthroscopy group had a greater total ROWE score, while the control group had a lower total ROWE score. The total ROWE score was significantly greater in the arthroscopy group. The twelve months ROWE score also demonstrated a sig nificant variation in mobility among the two groups p<0.05. No post operative infections were reported in arthroscopy group yet 2 cases in the later jet group experienced postoperative infection. Conclusion: Both arthroscopicBankart repair and Open later jetprocedure showed comparable results regarding patient reported outcome, recurrence, and complication. Choice between the two approaches depends upon many factors; age, bone loss, number of recurrences, cost, and other cosmetic preferences.
