The present study aims to explore the perceptions of Algerian consumers towards biodegradable packaging. Investigating the factors influencing consumers perceptions provides insights into the Algerian context. Additionally, it highlights the challenges and opportunities for promoting the adoption of biodegradable packaging in Algeria. A survey was conducted among 2000 consumers across four wilayas, i.e., districts: Algiers, Constantine, Ouargla, and Oran, of different age groups. Our results confirm the hypothesis that conventional packaging and its effects on nature have induced significant changes in the purchasing behavior of Algerian consumers, especially in the case of plastic. The results show that most of the respondents have a positive attitude towards ecological packaging, whether it is their price or not.
